Stinger™ Ablation Catheter Family

Endocardial ablation with advanced placement and control

Bard® Stinger™ Family of Ablation Catheters

For precise positioning and control, there's nothing quite like the high-performance Stinger™ Ablation Catheters. A unique blend of technology and ergonomics allows electrophysiologists to negotiate challenging anatomies quickly and confidently, with the highest levels of stability and control.

The Stinger™ Ablation Family of Catheters is available in 4mm and 8mm ablative electrodes and in thermistor and thermocouple temperature sensing technologies, making them compatible with most of today's leading RF generators. The Stinger® S Ablation Catheter version offers a firmer distal tip than the standard Stinger® Ablation Catheter, resulting in greater column strength and tissue contact.

Stinger™ Ablation Catheter Features:
  • Advanced Placement
    • Stinger™ Ablation Catheter aims to keep every ablation right on target with advanced placement and control features like bi-directional curve actuation and shaft-to-tip dissociation.
  • Maximum Tissue Contact
    • Some catheter electrodes are attached to the shaft using an adhesive overcoat that can distort or degrade signal quality. The Stinger™ Ablation Catheter's electrodes are compression-fit, eliminating the need for an adhesive overcoat.
  • Stinger™ 4mm Catheter
    • The shorter distal electrode and the 2mm spacing between pairs of electrodes provide accurate micromapping and precise tip placement.
  • Stinger™ 5mm and 8mm Catheter
    • The 5mm and 8mm ablation catheters combine larger distal electrodes with the key features from previous Stinger™ Ablation Catheter catheter models, enabling the creation of deeper lesions.
